I like the second one a lot more. I think it goes with you DP so far a lot better. Maybe in the foreground make some stronger darks because value wise I think its only 1-5 out of 10. But I wouldn't make it as drastic as in the first one. I'd keep everything and just add a dark in folds, wrinkles and immediate shadows. Maybe since all the colors are pretty cool make the deepest shadow a slightly warmer tone.
Do you really have a pet snail? If so, do you feed it leaves? If so, do you have a plant to supply leaves during the winter? Just wondering.
I like the idea of combining the two, the strong warm values of the top one with the sweet, cooler tones of the background on the second. I guess, literally cut and paste these two sections together if you can and see which looks better.
